It is very important to know the capacity of your pool in order to make correct maintenance plans, estimate heating costs and choose the equipment you will use.
If you are using a balance tank in your pool, you can reach the real capacity by adding 10% to the result of your calculation.
RECTANGULAR (SQUARE) POOL CAPACITY
For fixed depth pools
Length x Width x Depth = m³
For variable depth pools
(Depth-1 + Depth-2) / 2 x Length x Width = m³
OVAL POOL CAPACITY CALCULATION
Long Axis x Short Axis x Depth x 3 / 4 = m³
Example: An oval pool measuring 8m x 5m and 2m deep: 8 x 5 x 2 x 3.14 / 4 ≈ 62.80 m³
OCTAGON POOL CAPACITY CALCULATION
Side Length² x Depth x 2.414 = m³
Example: An octagonal pool with a side length of 3m and a depth of 2m: 3² x 2 x 2.414 ≈ 43.45 m³
